The Doodle Project: Everything

WORDS

i am the golden sun falling dappled outside your window, sliding over your walls your sofa your cheek your lips playing with your tendril legs weaving through your skin

If I can’t be with you

i am the impatient wind running through your hair your clothes the prodigal breath returning to your mouth the summertime breeze disobediently making your curtains billow

If I can’t be with you

i am the springtime rain soaking your fingers with the brush of my touch trembling on your lashes sliding down your bones trickling down your arms tickling down your back

If I can’t be with you

i am the fragrance stored for a hundred years in that old bookstore you like to go to and stand for hours in the dust that sighs about you the words that play in your mind the sounds that filter through those dust-heavy panes i am the lights that falls languidly, elegantly and drapes itself onto your skin

If I can’t be with you

i am the flowers you like to knit in your hair the flowers you like to arrange on your desk the flowers you pass your velvet fingers through whenever you pass them

i am the child’s laughter that makes you laugh the balloon your eyes follow in the air the fountain that gurgles when you pass the mist on the mountains you like to go to and    store yourself away in

i am the songs you hum at midnight when your head is full of dreams and you can’t sleep

i am the warmth of the cup you clutch i am the blanket that hides you from monsters Iiam the passion you burn with for your beliefs i am the mirror that sees you every day and aches for your beauty

love

If I can’t be with you

let me be nothing and immerse myself in you

let me be everything that you love

ART

Nilanjana final

This poem was written, shockingly, by none other than the same person who has written every single poem in the series so far. (That would be me.) (… I’m not even sure at this point if that’s sarcasm or bragging, tbh.) The art was made by the outstandingly talented and very cute Nilanjana.
