My first ever poetry reading 🌸 • I've called myself a poet since I was six and it was at 23 that I finally had a proper poetry reading, with an audience. I read a poem dedicated to my father, called Aleppo, and another about bleeding, called Woman. • Thank you, @theaklf and @thehuewoman , for the opportunity! Here's to so many more to come.
CALLING ALL POETS: I MET AND SPOKE WITH KAVEH AKBAR! • How often do we meet people we idolise?! It's difficult, especially for Indian poets, when we rarely get to interact with those who inspire us in our words and lives. • This is why this interview is so special to my heart. Conducted at the ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival, where I was part of the official blogging team, Kaveh spoke about art, addiction, love, poetry by people of colour and so much more. • Link in bio! • #indianpoetry #indianpoets #bookstagramindia #kaveh #kavehakbar #poetsofcolor #PoetryLoversUnite #poetry
I interviewed the fabulous @karunaezara / @ezarawrites ! LINK IN BIO. • We spoke about love, art, glamour, poetry, Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai and more. It was an eye-opening and humbling experience! • Are you a fan of Karuna? Who is your favourite Instagram poet? Tell me 🌸 • #indianbookbloggers #bloggersofinstagram #bloggersofindia #bookstagramindia #karunaezaraparikh #instapoetry #textpost #interview #indianpoetry #indianpoets •
"What are we here for? What is the purpose? What did that Smiths song say? ‘They were born. And then they lived. And then they died. Seems so unfair, and I want to cry.’" It was my dad's 59th birthday yesterday, and I wrote about the evolution of grief and the trauma of loss. Read it maybe? Link in bio. --- I also want to be much more regular on here in 2019, which I talk about at the end of the post- A Year in Interviews, in which I would interview 52 men and women- writers, filmmakers and achievers- over the year, one for every week. Would you like to read this? Let me know. -- And before I forget, may all of you have a happy new year! -- #grief #happynewyear #2019 #parents #loveforever #indianbookbloggers #bookstagramindia
Back from the dead with a treat for all you poetry lovers! • Ayushman Jamwal is a Senior News Editor of CNN-News 18. He's also a poet and writer, and an advocate for dying languages. His new book of poetry, Silent Sun, is out NOW and I reviewed it! • LINK IN BIO. • On a different note, Oxford Bookstore is one of my favourite places for events. The people are lovely and the place is very cozy. ❤ • #poetry #poetrycommunity #bookstagramindia #bookstagrammer #unitedbookstagram #poetryreview •
